The Magstar cabinet is designed for frame-mounted installation of up to four 3591 tape changer units. Each changer unit consists of one 3591 tape drive and one automated magazine for ten cartridges.
 
The 3591 tape drive supports MTC10 or EHCT20 cartridges. Several 3591 single tape drives can also be installed in Enterprise Class Libraries.
